If it seems like Republicans have been very quick to criticize Democrats for worshipping at the altars of celebrities for years, it’s because they have.
Indeed, the GOP’s presidential; nominee in 2008 — the late Senator John McCain (R-AZ) -- mocked candidate Obama for his “celebrity” status in that campaign. And then, because that strategy worked so well, the Republican Party kept that line of attack alive into the 2012 campaign as well. Because of course they did.
To the GOP’s reliable “celebrity-bashing” line of attack going forward, two words should (but, of course, won’t) effectively shut them up:
Gold statue.
My g-d — a gold statue. To a disgraced, corrupt, incompetent, ignorant and likely criminal traitor, bigot, and pathological liar who likes to sexually assault women no less. (Admittedly, a gold statue is, in one way and one way only, quite fitting for the man who allegedly has a predilection for golden showers in Moscow. But I digress….)
The entire party is a such a rotting, putrid mess.
