“Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex” (Equal Rights Amendment).
I have waited my whole life, 34 turns around this sun, for fair and equal rights and protection under the law when I shouldn't have had to wait a single day. I have paid consequences for the crime of being born female for as long as I can remember. I have suffered abuses of the personal, social, economic, and legal varieties that men I’ve known all my life have not experienced. I'm ready to be done with a fight that women have been unwillingly drafted into since the formation of this country and the drafting of the Declaration of Independence and a Constitution from which we were purposely excluded. It's time to right this wrong.
If you agree, please take the time to join the Era Coalition in calling on the Biden-Harris administration to make finalization of the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution of the United States a top priority within their first hundred days. Just add your name to this petition. Liking, sharing, and donating to the cause is also appreciated.
In January of 2020, Virginia became the 38th and final state needed to ratify the ERA. Now all we need is for the Senate to remove an arbitrary deadline for ratification that was imposed on the amendment in 1972.
After signing the letter to the Biden-Harris administration urging them to prioritize ratification, call the members of congress representing your state and demand that they support S.J. Res 1 and H.J. Res 17, which will remove the arbitrary deadline so that the Equal Rights Amendment, and equality under the law regardless of sex, can finally be codified in our Constitution. This is one of the largest steps we can take at this time to create a more just and more perfect union.
