Welcome To Woozle Wednesday
Welcome to Woozleville, our little doggie-designated corner at the PWB Peeps [that’s Pooties (cats), Woozles (dogs), Birdeez (duh), and us Peeps of course].
Yes, it’s Woozle Wednesday, that day of the week when the PWBP Pooties take the day off and the pooches come to the rescue and politely take up the slack — well, those that are trained not to pull on their leashes. Don’t worry, pootie lovers, the kitties insist on making an appearance even though it is supposed to be their day off. They just can’t help putting in their two meows worth. Other critters like birdeez, small pets, farm animals, and sometimes wild creatures will also drop in from time to time.
The Easter Rabbit Is Coming To Town!
As most folks here know, Woozlevillagers love a good celebration. The more colorful, the better. And the woozles and their friends love getting presents, especially treats. So it comes as no surprise that the dogs of Woozleville love tales of the Easter bunny, Easter chicks, Easter baskets, and Easter eggs.
As the good weather has arrived, the pups have noticed that there are a lot more bunnies popping up around the village. Sightings are becoming numerous (well, they are bunnies after all). In fact, some pups are convinced that they have seen the Easter bunny hiding eggs and indeed some early colorful eggs have already been discovered. The pups excitedly spread the news. The annual Woozleville Easter Egg Hunt was sure to be right around the corner.
But was it true? Was the Easter Bunny actually in town? Or was it just a myth. Inquiring puppy minds wanted to know.
The teachers at the Rin Tin Tin Elementary School always look for teachable moments. They educated their puppy pupils about their rabbit neighbors in nearby Warren. It turns out that there are lots of Easter bunnies and not just one. It takes many helping hands to decorate and deliver Easter eggs and baskets around the globe. The local farms and chickens, of course, also help.
Well, that made sense to the puppies and their kitten friends. So the kids are going on a field trip. Yes, we will be visiting the little rural town called The Warren. It just looked like some large grassy fields to the puppies, but it turned out that the underground village of rabbits was quite productive. In fact, this Warren produces most of the Easter Eggs for Woozleville and Pootietown. Easter egg production is the major cottage industry for this rural community of rabbits and their chicken neighbors. Who knew?
The young woozles will give a presentation on everything they learned on their field trip. But before we assemble at the Village Green below the fold for our village Easter Egg Hunt, we must pause for the Rulz per the Management:
You know how this works, but as always, a gentle reminder:
- No trolling the diary.
- If you hate pootie diaries, leave now. No harm, no foul.
- Share any and all pootie/woozle photos or issues that you would like .
- When it comes to problems, we may just have someone with experience who can help.
- Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. This is a place to relax and play; please treat it accordingly.
- There is no such thing as stealing a photo around here, but if you would like a pic from the comment threads, please ask the poster. He/she may have a copyright to those pics. Many thanks!
- It should not need to be said, but ANY/ALL photos that imply or encourage human violence against an animal will be considered verboten! Whether it is “comedic” or not, it will be frowned upon and considered out of bounds.

PWB Peeps posts two diaries a day for animal lovers: a daytime diary at 1:45 pm Eastern and a nightly open thread at 10 pm Eastern.
We concoct silly stories, share photos, seek & give advice about pet health and behavior issues, support each other in times of sadness and stress, celebrate together when times are good, and on most days have an inordinate amount of fun.
You are welcome to join us!
Now, please join us for the celebration below the fold.
It’s a long process to produce Easter Eggs, and it starts with the Chickens!

[Note: Most of the illustrations are by Arthur Thiele as found on Pinterest. Carl Robert Arthur Thiele (1860-1936) was a German artist, illustrator and draftsman. He was most known for his humous illustrations of elegantly attired anthropomorphic animals, especially dachshunds and cats for which he gained the nicknames 'Dackel-Thiele' and 'Katzen-Thiele'. Postcards and greeting cards were by far his largest output. However, he produced a wide range of illustrations for advertising, children’s books, sheet music, and magazines. According to a short bio by his sonEmil, Arthur Thiele ventured into animal art because of its extreme popularity, calling it “bread work,” but he was happy with his niche and satisfied with being a working illustrator. Not all the work is signed, but he later added Lpzg for Leipzig to his signature.]
