So earlier today, I was perusing Yahoo news articles, and stumbled across one where the comment section was enable again. I didn’t read any of the comments, or post one myself, but I checked several other articles and none of those had the comments enabled.
Finally, I found another one with them enabled, titled: "Joe Rogan Fears 'Straight White Men Are Not Allowed to Talk' in 'Woke' World."
I proceeded to write a comment saying,
“What a sensitive snowflake!
I'm a white, straight man and I have NO IDEA what the hell this weirdo is talking about.”
When I clicked “Send,” I got a warning message saying: “Sure about this? Your post seems to include language which may be considered inappropriate in our community. You can either revise your comment or have it reviewed by a moderator.”
I wonder what triggered this? Was it “snowflake?” “Weirdo?” Maybe Yahoo is trying to combat racism in their comment section by banning any mention of race? Maybe all of the above? What do you all think? Should Yahoo have even bothered bringing this feature back?

Update: Checking back on my comment to see if anyone had replied to it, I saw this notification:

- All comments on the site require manual approval (so nothing personal) [emphasis mine]
- Certain comments are sent to an internal product performance review (it’s not you, it’s us)
- Your comment has been automatically flagged as It may not align with our Community Guidelines (You can revise your comment at any time)

If it’s true that ALL comments require manual approval, then I think this is a great way of combating the toxicity!
