From Derek Chauvin to Rudolph Giuliani to The Former Guy, we have to temper our desire to extract the most extreme punishments for their crimes. Chauvin’s future will been known later today. Rudy’s is finally in the works. The Former Guy’s time is coming.
And we’re just now starting to see the outcomes of some of those arrested for the 6 January insurrection. Speaking of… These idiots just can’t help themselves. They step out of court and somehow seem to think the judges are idiots and won’t hear their comments on Fox TV. May the judges take the first case as an example of their duplicitous attitude toward the courts and their pride in their involvement in the insurrection, no matter how “minor” they may claim their involvement may or may not have been.
I tell myself that justice moves slow and revenge is quick. Redemption may never occur even in someone’s hagiographic obituaries. No one above deserves redemption and that’s not being vengeful.
