I had to wear two faces when I learned of this today while trading gossip with two of our local nuckle-dragging parasitic ner' do wells. This pair where the only ones left after covid killed the rest of the klan. I did not mind that we the people had paid some 36,000 $K to try to save their family members. That seemed right & proper!
BUT TO PAY TO BURY THE UN-VAXED, huh? My gut turned nasty & foul.
It was hard to stay calm in the sneer on the slack jawed, unshaven, pasty face as he expressed his delight at "beating" the system when he said "Trump brought us the best funeral that money could buy!"
Some how 9K to help bury an un-vaxed, no-masked just turned my stomach.
Seems FEMA (on Uncle Joe's watch) gives 9K for covid death funerals.
The un-vaxed are the same ones who say "pull your self up by your bootstrap's" until the snake eyes roll and the devil comes to collect his cut.
It was not the money to treat them as much as the thought that these folks were so selfish and un-concerned that all their close ones died; it's was that I had to help fund their burial. It's one way to get them off the voter rolls, and for the survivors to vote blue, but somethings not right in this time of free and available vax.
I can understand we the people helping for funeral costs when we had no vax, I cannot not understand how/why we continue give 9K to those who thumb their nose at the rest of the herd with cries of personal freedom (selfish sloths).
I also don't know how I missed this compassionate program in the stream; perhaps someone can use it.
Enough of my revulsion & rant: Read and make your own opinion.
" People who need aid covering the for loved ones who died of COVID-19 may be eligible for up to $9,000 in assistance from the federal relief legislation that was enacted in March.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) — the government agency handling this program — has released its policy for the program and started accepting applications for relief on April 12. Through the end of June, the agency had awarded more than $447 million in assistance to more than 66,800 applicants."
“The COVID-19 pandemic has caused immense grief for so many people,” Acting FEMA Administrator Bob Fenton said in a statement. “Although we cannot change what has happened, we affirm our commitment to help with funeral and burial expenses that many families did not anticipate."
