From my Facebook page:
“Our world in data presents the data that shows getting vaccinated saves lives. If you are not vaccinated, then look at the fucking data . https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/united-states-rates-of-covid-19-deaths-by-vaccination-status?time=2021-09-04..2021-12-04&country=~All+ages
The data in this country in which we live is CRYSTAL CLEAR: if you are not vaccinated, then the death rate of your group is 10 times the rate of those who are vaccinated even without a booster and if you are not vaccinated, then the death rate of your group is 20 times the rate of those who are vaccinated and boosted .
HERE IS WHERE THE NUMBERS CAME FROM :
Obviously the numbers changed over time. I am speaking of the average ratios based upon my approximation formed by looking at the graph. Alternative methods are to find the arithmetic mean for each day for each group over a certain period or to find the median for each day for each group over whatever period. These choices seem arbitrary and I saw nothing wrong with estimating the death rate for each group over the last two months .

The vaccines save lives. I don’t understand how the flat Earthers are so fucking stupid as to equate in importance the infection rate and the hospitalization/ ICU rate or the death rate.
It is NOT the case that the only way that a vaccine is useful is if it prevents infection. Vaccines are extremely helpful when they prevent a vaccinated person from having to be placed in the ICU and put on a ventilator . Vaccines are extremely helpful when they prevent the vaccinated person from dying if they catch COVID-19.
Again, read the fucking data and get vaccinated. “
We are losing thousands of people daily in the United States to the novel coronavirus and Omicron has been with us almost two months. This suggests that what was postulated about Omicron was true : the lower mortality rate was overwhelmed by the increase in how contagious it is. As an example: if Omicron is half as deadly but was twice as contagious as Delta, then we would lose as many people to COVID from Omicron as from Delta, all other things being equal. Thus, although the risk to the individual might be low, the risk to society is great. Hence, we should get fully vaccinated and boosted and avoid crowds, especially indoor crowds, and correctly or properly wear KN-95 when indoors around other people.
