The Summary
Part 2 has editorial cartoonists portraying Trump as a renegade with no understanding of — let alone have respect for — the United States Constitution. You know, the same set of rules that he promised to obey at his 2016 inauguration. In fact, his oath of office included words in which he swore that he “will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."
Operating in the sleazy world of real estate in the Greater NYC area for decades before he entered the political arena, Trump brought the same low-brow behavior and sensibilities to Washington, DC. Ditto for his corrupt children and son-in-law. That the Trump Organization was found guilty of fraud didn’t surprise any of the editorial cartoonists.
But, with so many legal troubles bedeviling him from many different angles, this could well be the beginning of the end for him. One can only outrun the law for so long and avoid justice. Sooner or later, it’ll catch up with you. We might reach that point in the coming months.
Society also judges all of us by the company we keep. In Trump’s case, his friends and political allies are also depicted in the same negative light by cartoonists as they see him. As a group, these folks are not much into ethics and morality!
Part 2 has over 30 editorial cartoons and other images. I’ll post at least 10-15 more in the comments. Remember to take the fun poll of rock musicians in the diary. And see the video of David Bowie and Peter Frampton looking for a bar and haircut in Madrid, Spain.
In Part 1, which I posted earlier this evening, there are almost 70 cartoons between the diary and comments section. Be sure to check it out.
Thank you. Happy Holidays!
How could such a person ever be worthy of becoming the presidential nominee of one of the major political parties in this country? Yet, here we are.
It is entirely possible that only the voters can drive the final political stake through Trump’s heart. Absent that, he politically stays alive in one way, shape, or form.
Thomas Edsall: “How, in a matter of less than a decade, could this once-proud country have evolved to the point at which there is a serious debate over choosing a presidential candidate who is a lifelong opportunist, a pathological and malignant narcissist, a sociopath, a serial liar, a philanderer, a tax cheat who does not pay his bills, a man who socializes with Holocaust deniers, who has pardoned his criminal allies, who encouraged a violent insurrection, who, behind a wall of bodyguards, is a coward, and who, without remorse, continuously undermines American democracy?”
Peggy Noonan: “Mr. Trump has looked bad since his weak and formless presidential announcement last month—dining with anti-Semites and white supremacists, meeting with Q supporters, calling for the Constitution to be waived to return him to office. He appears to be deliberately marginalizing himself. There is a debate whether we are witnessing the end of Mr. Trump. But here is the truth: Only the voters can crush Mr. Trump.”
“It’s good if senators come forward and deplore his latest antics, if party operatives cast doubt on his viability and writers and thinkers on the right deplore him. But it doesn’t really matter. What matters is that voters on the ground turn away from him. That is how it ends. Any other way and he says the swamp did him in. Voters have to show no, it was us, and we’re not the swamp.”

Diary Poll
British rockers are famous all over the world. The diary poll doesn’t have the complete list of influential rock musicians who are from the UK. If your favorite isn’t listed, choose ‘Someone Else’ and offer your choice in a comment.
Note: I had 19 rockers on my diary poll + Someone Else as the 20th choice in case I didn’t list your favorite. I found out that the DK diary poll limit is 18. It used to be 15 in years past.
What made them stand out?
Do you know what’s common between Rod Stewart, John Lennon, Elton John, Robert Plant, David Bowie and Mick Jagger? Other than their roots that bind them all together, it is their passion for rock music. Rock is a form of music that evolved from rock and roll during the mid-20th century in United Kingdom and United States.
From 1960s started the golden era of the music form that captivated audience with its powerful and strong vocals, authentic music and distinctive yet innovative style. Catchy melodies, delicious hooks and influential style dominated rock music. While musicians across the globe brought in varsity to this music genre, it was the British rock bands and rock artists who made the most important and most influential contribution.
John Lennon, along with Paul McCartney founded the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed band in the history of music, the Beatles. This apart, he enjoyed a successful solo career and was responsible for 25 number one songs on the US Hot 100 Chart. Elton John’s five decade long career has been a flourishing one, with more than 300 million records sold. This made him one of the best-selling music artists of the world. For his contribution to music in his fifty years of career, Mick Jagger is regarded as one of the most popular and influential frontmen in the history of rock & roll.
