I haven’t seen any mention of the Ukraine Take Shelter.com website on DKos, but I may have missed it so pardon the repeat if this is a duplicate.
There are plenty of warm, fuzzy stories on the MSM about the two college students who developed this website and you can read the CNN version here. It’s hard to know right now how well the website is achieving its developers’ goal of safely and securely connecting hosts and Ukrainian refugees, but as Russia continues its horrific bombing of Ukraine cities, it seems like every sincere effort to help should be welcomed and seriously considered.
In that spirit, please think of this diary as a PSA rather than a recommendation of the website and do your own additional research on it if the possibility of hosting one or more Ukrainians interests you. I don’t know how feasible it is right now to host Ukrainian refugees in the U.S. and Alexandra Martinez of Prism Reports provides better information on that topic than I can in her March 15 DKos diary. However, since kossacks live all over the world, it seemed important to give Ukraine Take Shelter.com some space here. The link in the first sentence above will get you to the website.
