I was going to write about COVID, but this is more uplifting…Hubble Finds Oldest Star Yet. OK, This story is more understandable.
And even though the flyby of Pluto was almost 7 years ago, there’s still active research on the data generated by that event. Pluto appears to have rather large ice-volcanoes. That implies that there was at the least slushy water at least a billion years or so ago, and the linked story says it’s not impossible that Pluto has retained enough heat to still be active. So not only nitrogen glaciers, but also water ice volcanism. Nice place.
And keep the complaints about the status of the DWARF PLANET down to minimum. If Pluto is a planet then I WANT TO BE CALLED A PLANET. I’m more active. I think.
OK one last one, because I can’t resist. Did this start get some bad weed? Dying star blows smoke rings. This one sounds sad, but cool. Certainly more cool than COVID. Or war.
Peace & love, y’all
