I have Asperger’s syndrome. I’m on the Autism Spectrum. I’m considered a high-functioning Aspie with all the associated traits.
A poll posted here at dKos a few years ago implied that about a third of the people here who participate in that poll are also on the spectrum. Another third have children who are.
We think differently. We have emotions but we don’t express them like Neural Typicals. Given that there are so many people here who are either on the spectrum or have children on the spectrum one might think there would be some tolerance for ARE normal behavior. If you thought that, you’d be wrong. There is not. The same discrimination I experience in the 3D world is on display here.
The normies want don’t want us around. It’s tribal. When we aren’t intimidated into leaving, we’re punished.
Unless I’m intolerantly banned I’m not going anywhere. I’m done being pushed out, excluded, disappeared. If you don’t like how I deal with tragedy, learn some tolerance. If you can’t do that then at least pretend to be tolerant of us one month a year or just one day year, April 2, National Autism Awareness Day.
