On day 1 the Republicans endorsed business attorney Jim Schultz to challenge Attorney General Keith Ellison. Schultz beat the previous Republican candidate Doug Wardlow, who happens to be general council for MyPillow. I guess Minnesota Republicans are not impressed when your boss stitches his lips to Trump’s ass.
Usually a party endorsement clears the field for the primary, but Schultz will be challenged by Dennis Smith, a former legislator.
Day 2 is underway where they will endorse a challenger to Governor Tim Walz. Or not. The 60% threshold for endorsement can be hard to get.
The contenders are a doctor who is a vaccine skeptic. A former state senator who will push the crime issue, a black business executive who made something of himself, and a former sheriff who has a record of abuse that you would expect from a conservative cop.
