My brother’s family had a large old dog named Blue. At times it was hard to tell shaggy Ole Blue from the shag throw rug by the front door since both spent all their time lying there.
Aside from food, only one passion stirred Blue. That was the sound of a particular car.
Why? Nobody knew. Perhaps even Blue, himself, didn’t exactly know why. And to the best of my knowledge he never said. But, when that car drove by, Blue went from a lying start to a dead run, barking and straining every fiber of his considerable bulk until exhausted and panting, he was forced to give up the chase and return defeated.
What if Blue had caught the car, what was he going to do with it? He didn’t have a license…well a dog license, but….
The GOP’s been pushing the Supreme Court to end Roe v. Wade since it became law. Now, leaked documents suggest the GOP has succeeded in getting its way and, in the process, angered well over 70 percent of Americans who were just fine with the law the way it was.
With inflation unstoppable, Covid not stopping fast enough, war in Ukraine, and the Jan. 6th prosecution of the bad guys creeping along as public interest wanes, the Democrats — not necessarily through any fault of their own — appeared to be dead in November.
The GOP was in the catbird seat, then it went out and “caught the car”.
If that analogy doesn’t make it for you, how about one from the Bible for all the religious people out there who are heart and soul (well soul anyway) of the abortion movement, “they that sow the wind shall reap the whirlwind.”

Level the Playing Field. Support Independent Writers and Publishers.
Today Amazon has become our online bookstore/distribution center. While there’s no charge for uploading, publishing a book can cost two to four thousand dollars and more for copyediting, proofreading, design and cover art.
It’s David vs. Goliath
Costs are nothing to big established houses that are divisions of major corporations and can support their authors with everything from ghost writers to complete advertising and PR campaigns.
With 2 million titles on Amazon alone vying for your attention, the only way to level the playing field is increasing visibility. That means advertising and advertising costs money.
