For Your Mother and Mine.
We did not know them as the girls they were.
When their dreams were bright
and their paths were paved with hope.
We did not know them as young women;
when they danced through the night…
and their laughter was music.
We did not know them as young brides.
Their eyes shining with pride and love…
walking toward a new life.
We did not know them when they bore us
and through their pain and strength
brought us into this life.
We know them only as our mothers,
vessels of wisdom, tenderness, courage...
and, above all, love.
