It’s no secret.
America is going to send Democrats down to defeat in the midterms because Biden has caused gas prices to spike and inflation to explode. He’s President after all, so it must be his fault, right? (Funny how that only works for bad news.)
So voters will punish him and Democrats by returning to power the crooks, incompetents, and outright authoritarian monsters eagerly waiting in the wings. Because America, right?
The GQP disinformation media complex has certainly come up with all the ways Biden has made gasoline prices explode: he’s shut down oil leases so companies can’t drill, he’s canceled pipelines so oil companies can’t move existing supplies, he’s going crazy with the Green New Deal, and we’re all going to end up freezing in the dark. Also he’s — well you get the picture.
We’re headed for energy armageddon thanks to Joe. You know — like Texas did during that freeze that Ted Cruz ran away from.
None of that is true by the way (except the bit about Cruz), but as Mark Twain did NOT say: “The truth has no defense against a fool determined to believe a lie.”
Well, if you have got the time (about 23 minutes) Rollie Williams of Climate Town has put together a video that takes apart the whole story of what is causing gas prices to do what they do. It’s entertaining, it’s informative, and it’s easy to follow as he connects the dots.
(The interview by Mike Munsell of Canary Media at the link about Williams has links to a number of resources energy and climate professionals and policymakers should check out.)
Watch the video, share it on social media (and with your MAGA friends/relatives) and check out the other stuff mentioned here. Hey — it’s the weekend. Kick back and enjoy.

Update: for those who don’t have the time to watch the entire video or want the quick takeaway:
For people who don’t want to watch the entire video, Williams spells it out in the first 4 minutes and 30 seconds, with a Family Feud style graphic. Here’s how the costs break down:
#4 Distribution and marketing
#3 Refining
#2 Taxes
#1 THE COST OF OIL — by huge amount.
The rest of the presentation pulls up charts, current events, and history to show how it all works. Still very much worth watching.
