In Pawtucket, Rhode Island on February 12, 2022, the member Nations/Tribes of The Federation of Aboriginal Nations of the Americas (FANA) and its allies signed the “Official International Indigenous Nation to Nation Treaty of Commerce and Trade” uniting FANA and its allies with the Kinakwii Nation of Canada.
Earlier today, I posted for FANA the article regarding the Constructive and Public notice that was filed in Rhode Island. It addressed the filing of the above mentioned treaty.
This article gives the history of how it came into being.
Principal Chief Dr. Ronald Yonaguska Holloway (Principal Chief Yonaguska) of the SandHill Band of Lenape and Cherokee Indians is a founding member of FANA and is the Federation’s International Ambassador.
One of his many duties is to reach out to other nations/tribes that have contacted FANA regardless if said Nation/Tribe is inquiring to become a member of FANA or an ally.
When the Kinakwii Confederation reached out to FANA to become allies, Principal Chief Yonaguska began negotiations.
He successfully negotiated and combined the Hawaiian “Indigenous Treaty of Peace and Friendship” and the “Indigenous Treaty of Health and Wellness” that had been signed in New York with FANA members and their Hawaiian and Polynesia Allies, with what would eventually become the “Official International Indigenous Nation to Nation Treaty of Commerce and Trade”.
However, it took diligent work on the wording within the document and a constant back and forth communication between Principal Chief Yonaguska, FANA, its Allies, and the Kinakwii to agree on the Treaty. Principal Chief Yonaguska was able to blend together the two Hawaiian Treaties and what would become the “Official International Indigenous Nation to Nation Treaty of Commerce and Trade” that would tie together FANA’s members and allies with the Kinakwii Confederation.
The combining of these three (3) treaties, links the individual Member Tribes of FANA, The Federation of Aboriginal Nations of the Americas, and the Hawaiian Kingdom together so that this Treaty links the Eastern Seaboard of the United States, as well as Canada’s upper borders to New Zealand, the Caribbean, to Hawaii and Polynesia in the Pacific Ocean.
With the signing of this treaty, it now creates an Aboriginal Confederacy not seen in modern times. It also paves the way for recreating the Great League of Aboriginal Nations that existed before the Europeans came to the Americas.
