So you want to get involved. You spend a lot of election seasons knocking on doors, making those phone calls, and getting friends and family out to vote. But you are not a hedge fund manager, so you want to know where to donate to get the most bang for your buck. Let's go through some options.
State Party
State and county parties are the building blocks to building a foundation. It is the bread and butter of getting out the vote. I said this before. Find out who your county and state party chair is and see how you can help out.
The Democratic Party of Wisconsin's chair is Ben Wikler, formally from Move On.org. Scott Walker and the Republicans changed the law so the state party could donate to a candidate. Governor Evers's top donor is the Wisconsin Democratic Party. In turn, Tony Evers has contributed to the Wisconsin Democratic Party. State Democrats have outraised the Republicans by significant amounts. This is an excellent place to start.

Individual Candidates
Building a majority means we all need to start working together. I understand if there is a primary, you want to hold off on making any donations unless you feel powerful about a specific candidate. What if you live in a deep red district where your state assemblymen are running unopposed. Check the assembly race in neighboring counties. What is the most competitive senate district? Republicans are looking at trying to get the 25th Senate District and the 3rd congressional district since Ron Kind retired,

Every level of government has a campaign committee. Democratic Governor's Association, SDCC, DCCC, Assembly Democrats, Senate Democrats, etc. They help recruit and promote progressive candidates up and down the ballot.

The Democratic National Committee is run by Jamie Harrison. Vice-Chair is Mayor Keisha Lace Bottoms and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Senator Tammy Duckworth, and Minnesota DFL Chair Ken Martin. ( Minnesota Progressives are prolific at what they do electorally).
