I’ve been trying for several years to figure out a way of getting people’s attention, primarily on politics and voting issues. As we have been seeing the train wreck that is the current Supreme Court and the fact the six of the justices are mostly about right-wing hate activism, it is time to get more active. The republicans have shown that short, quick sounds bites are effective. I’m proposing sound bites we can use that are quick, hopefully memorable and truthful. I realize that sounds are far from complete and usually require more in-depth conversations, but first we need to get their attention.
If I have seen any opposition, it is primarily using the “right’s” terms, not terms that are correct. For example, all I see in public is “anti-abortion”, not the more correct “FORCED BIRTH”. While I have seen it some on DailyKos, it is by far not very widespread. It has, unfortunately, taken the rape of a 10 year old, and for the 10 year old to go for an abortion, for “FORCED BIRTH” to finally start being mentioned more widely.
The graphic above is a take on how we can start getting our messages out there. Maybe it needs to be broken up into smaller pictures, maybe expanded upon. In any case, we need to get it widespread, beyond our echo chambers. I’m open to suggestion on how to do that, or to whom we can get the message across where they could help expose it. If I had the money, I’d put it on every billboard in every red state, and some blue states too, in the ad feeds to every app for Apple Store, Google’s Play Store, and others. Much like I keep seeing the ads for the rapist/self-admitted-sexual-predator that keep popping up in the apps on my phone these days. But, I don’t have that kind of money.
Most of what I see are democrats using the republican’s words instead of our own. All that does is make their words sound legitimate, not expose the lies they are forcing upon everyone. It’s past time we change this.
I’m open to constructive feedback. If you don’t like it, fine, but at least tell me why with something more than “it’s not useful”. My goal is to make the message better and keep it simple, thereby easier to spread our words.
