Let’s celebrate the 123rd birthday of Alfred Hitchcock, born #OTD in 1899, one of the greatest filmmakers of our time, known as the "Master of Suspense".
Sir Alfred Joseph Hitchcock KBE, was born #OTD in 1899, in Leytonstone, on the outskirts of East London.
In a career spanning 6 decades, Hitchcock directed over 50 feature films and produced the television anthology Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1955–65).
His films garnered 46 Academy Award nominations, including 6 wins, although he never won the award for Best Director despite 5 nominations. He won 2 Golden Globes, 8 Laurel Awards and 5 lifetime achievement awards.
Hitchcock died on 29 April 1980 in Bel Air, CA.
