President Biden’s compassion was on full display at the signing of the PACT act. It was beautiful to watch. As I was reading the comments, I kept expecting attacks from the ugly authoritarian white supremacist white grievance bigot party members and I haven’t seen a single one after twenty comments (there mightbe likely are some, unfortunately, in the replies to the comments) and the comments are chicken soup for the soul. They will warm your heart! It’s hard to pick the ones to display!
“absolutely love this man, what a good human being…this is the energy we need from a president, someone who cares for all Americans”
and
“Great job President Biden!!! It is wonderful and uplifting to hear our sitting President speak with compassion for others from the heart and with intelligence. Thank you”
and
“Thank you President Biden. Your compassion, empathy, and wisdom go a long way in healing our great country!!”
and
“So good to see a president that actually CARES not only for our veterans, but ALL Americans!”
and
“Beautiful. Thank you President Biden, thank you Jon Stewart, thank you to all who fought so hard and so well for justice. most of all, thank you to our troops (blue heart symbol)”
and
[almost certainly from a republican] “Giving credit where credit is due, I’m very happy with Biden’s (no President) response (response — interesting word choice)”
and
“It’s so wonderful to have a dignified president that we can be proud of (red heart)”
and
“I feel like I have PTSD from TFG years. It is like a soothing balm to listen to President Biden. A human being who seems to genuinely care about others. A leader to who acknowledges others and not just himself. A wonderful moment!”
and
“Absolutely amazing! This is how a true President sounds likes this. It’s about everyone else and he didn’t turn this to be about him!!!”
and
“Oh my! As a Registered Republican, I always applaud any public servant—regardless of voter alignment. I am grateful that I didn’t miss this press conference… for many reasons!
As a career Air Force wife, I care immensely for our Veterans , especially those who are vulnerable. Mr. Biden is speaking exceptionally presidential!!!We have really missed such soft spoken narrative, reasonably presented.
If our President Biden has any neurological issues, he is wholly coherent and lucid in this opportunity to ensure undergirdment for our Nation’s Armed Forces. Thank you, President Biden, for also paying tribute to Jon Stewart’s diligent and selfless championing of our Veterans . I would be proud to serve on your staff!”
and
“The love & compassion in the voice of our president is so refreshing after 4 years of haughty insults from TFG. Thank you so much for this, Mr. President You’re truly a blessing. God Bless You Always, and God Bless the USA & always our brave troops as well! prayer symbol perhaps an episcopalian symbol (purple rectangle with white cross ) and American Flag. And Thank you Jon Stewart for loudly helping this bill to pass...”
and
“I like having a president with a heart, someone who can not only relate to other people’s problems, but who has experienced them himself and came away with compassion. And Jon Stewart, there are no words. Respect, man. You are a force for good.”
and
“May President Biden continue guiding us and keep us from an autocracy that several politicians in Washington are driving us toward and God bless him for helping the veterans.”
and
“This actually makes me feel proud about this country—something I haven’t felt for a very long time-”
and
“You know, this is how it goes. It always takes Democrats about 2 years to start to clean up the mess from the last Republican in office. I am so happy I voted for this good man and thank you Jon Stewart for being so unflinchingly brave. Most of all, THANK YOU TO ALL VETERANS!!!! You are the reason our country still stands. Your sacrifice and service are deeply appreciated by me and MANY more like me.”
and
“I’m so glad Jon Stewart was recognized for his dedication to getting this passed. Biden and Stewart are both class acts.”
and
“It’s good to see a President who knows how to comfort people and talk with compassion and feeling.”
and
“Wonderful, no yelling and screaming and a President who knows what type of sacrifice that all veterans and their families go/went through to protect our democracy and freedom. President Biden has more honor in his little finger than the whole of the Republican Party. “
and
“This is truly a great moment for President Biden. This is what a good president does: he cares and recognizzes those who sacrifice the most for our country. Well Done!”
and
“A heart-warming and gratifying presentation in honor of our well-deserving veterans and their families! OF course, some of our “WOUNDED” heroes attended the ceremony too!!!”
and
“No one can say that Presidnet Biden is losing his faculties. He is a brilliant speaker, aided by his empathy and integrity. No way in hell could Trump deliver this speech.”
and
“Such a powerful moment for our President; he has such compassion and is so human. It’s so refreshing!”
and
“This brought tears to my eyes… Would Trump have thanked anyone? No, he would say it was all his doing. Very proud of Biden and Jon Stewart.”
and
“Feels so good to have a president that cares for our country and our troops!!!”
and
“No matter what the polls say- The Compassion of this President is undeniable.”
and
“Such a wonderful and moving speech. Such warm and genuine applause appreciating a monumental moment! This is beyond what I expected and so much of what we need for our vets. Biden wants what’s best for everyone. He is not for himself, but for our Country! This is very moving! Very well done everyone who got us to this point! So very many hours spent getting us here! Again well done!”
and
“Great talk. It’s great to hear you after being a kid who stuttered. You don’t talk about it much, but I know it’s a great accomplishment each and every time you speak. Having said that, I know this hits home for you as you lost your son as a result of these burn piles. Thanks to everyone who worked on this bill, and thank you for supporting it, and signing it into law.”
and
“Man this brought me to blubbering tears. My deep respect and hoomr goes out to all that sacrifice daily. My heart goes to my President of whom I voted for. I lost my daughter in 2005 at 11 and when he spoke about his son. Well, let’s say I know how he feels. Try loving more every minute of a day.”
and
“Way to go Joe! This is a how a President talks! He inspires, he is grateful, he cares!”
and
“All the respect in the world for this man. His words of love for that little girl were so sincere. Love to our veterans.”
and
“A well-spoken address by a sane and kind President who is encouraging and helps us feel better. No disparaging critiism of others. Oh, how we have need of such a leader.”
and
“As a nonAmerican, I’ve noticed that watchig this even I sigh from relief, let alone your veterans and their families. For a lot of them, this bill may come too late, but it’s finally signed. Just don’t understand why it’s taken this long to make it happen. Good luck to your veterans and my respect for your President”
and
“As a veteran myself (not US) I can say, the USA can be proud having a president who cares. Very impressive.”
and
“As the son of a Marine, this was a powerful moment. I think people sometimes forget that in addition to this being personal for many, it is also personal for President Biden. He lost his son to this. He’s a far stronger man that I, since I’m not sure I would have been able to keep it together during that speech knowing I was about to sign something meant to help people with the same thing that took my child. Finally, I’d also like to acknowledge and thank all those people who were part of the public outcry that emerged when this bill first died in the Senate due to political machinations that are so far beneath our servicemembers and what they deserve. They refused to let it die, refused to let our servicemembers down, and got it done. Respect.”
and
“The longer this guy is in office, the more I appreciate his values, reason, and experience.”

Mighty Little Fluffy the Great somehow escaped from my apartment. My first two searches were unfruitful and I was very upset. Thankfully, I found her on the third search. I have roommates. I am on the third floor. She always wants to be in the common area which includes the living room and the kitchen and the entryway. She must lie on me whenever I am in the common area. She has to expand her territory. Therefore, she insists on ALWAYS being in the common area and will cry incessantly until I let her out into the common area. I have some sort of heat sickness. I felt really awful when I found her. I sat down on every step up the first set of stairs before barely staying upright and making it to the third floor and to the apartment. I got fresh purified water and new cans of food for her and she drank and ate extremely well which makes me happy!!!
