Major media outlets in Russia, Tass and Kommersant, are reporting that a car explosion in the outskirts of Moscow claimed the life of Darya Dugina, daughter of the influential right wing nationalist writer, Aleksandr Dugin, sometimes referred to, in the West, as “Putin’s brain.”

In the US, the Daily Beast is also reporting the story. → www.thedailybeast.com/...
Dugin, a public figure in Russia, and his daughter attended the government-sponsored, patriotic ‘Tradition’ festival in Moscow on Saturday.
According to Kommersant, they were supposed to leave the event together, but instead went in different cars, leading to speculation that the explosion could have been an attempt on his life.
Denis Pushilin, head of the breakaway ‘Donetsk People’s Republic’ in eastern Ukraine has already labeled the incident a terrorist attack executed by Ukrainians.
Kommersant says that the incident is under investigation by explosives experts.
From Olga Lautman, who tweets often about the war in Ukraine:
Dugin is known for promoting the Russkiy mir, or Russian World, philosophy which has been adopted by Vladimir Putin as a justification for the invasion of Ukraine. He is also a supporter of the white supremacist movement in Europe and was one of the founders of Bloc Identitaire, a neo-fascist youth group in France. In the US, Richard Spencer was one of his followers.
Darya Dugina, who was 29 years old, followed in her father’s footsteps, promoting the same fascist ideology. In the Russian media and on YouTube, she was an outspoken supporter of the war in Ukraine. In March, she was sanctioned by the U.S. government in connection with a Kremlin-run influence operation.
