So. Raw Story is reporting that Trump attorney Alina Habba is taking umbrage because the DOJ utilized such “mundane” statutes as the Espionage Act to go after Our Poor Victim, Donald Trump.

Well, to use a quote from one of my favorite movies, The Princess Bride, I don’t think that word means what she thinks it means.
Mundane? Lacking interest or excitement? Dull?
I’d say espionage, certainly at the level that we’re starting to suspect Trump may have been involved, is anything but “lacking interest or excitement.” It goes to the very heart of our national security. People’s lives are very much at risk and, while I make light of it by referencing The Princess Bride, it’s a very — VERY — serious matter.
To quote many, it would be wrong not to speculate. Look, Jared got $2 billion from the Saudis. Now Jared may be a very bright boy, but hell. Two billion dollars? What else was involved? Inquiring minds want to know.
Trump, himself, got hundreds of millions from the Saudis for his golf tournament. Again, was there anything else involved?
To cut to the chase, was Trump peddling classified and sensitive defense information to potentially hostile countries? Was Jared?
I must say, Alina Habba has come off my “If I need an attorney, call this one” list. If that’s the best she can do, then I’ll go with one of the guys who advertises on TV during the local news hour. I may even go with the guys who continue to insist I must have been a Marine at Camp Lejeune, even though I have no recollection of ever being a Marine.
I’d also say, I can even share my list of potential lawyers with Ms Habba, since I think she’s going to need one, herself. It seems she swore in the New York state case that she had examined all of Trumps desks, drawers, etc for documents relating to the New York case. Since some of the highly-classified docs were in those selfsame drawers, one would have to wonder…. Is she so ignorant that she failed to notice them? Did Trump put them there after her search? Hmmm.
Well. The old saying is that the person who represents himself in court is an idiot, and has an idiot to represent him. In this case, it seems that the idiot hired an idiot. (Apologies to idiots, who are constantly maligned.)
