was my birthday. 🎉
I received a lot of drawings from my students as birthday gifts.
Here are a few samples of what I got.
Enjoy:
🎉 🥳 🎉
Sometimes a class
(depicted above and below)
engages Mister Green as a whole
and gets into a group game I call:
“How old are you, Mister Green?”.
I ask them in return, “how old do you think I am?”.
The guesses come in all ranges.
The ages guessed by kindergarteners have a wider range generally from third grade to sixth grade, middle school, or high school.
No matter what they guess,
even if they guess correctly,
my response will be as follows:
“That’s a good guess.”
“You are so good at guessing.”
“That’s the best guess yet. (no matter what they have said)”.
Sometimes I give the guessers some hints,
such as:
“I’m a wee bit over two-Saturn-years-old
“but less than one-Uranian-year-old.”
My sojourn to get hired to teach my own class goes on. I remain a “Super Substitute”, aka Grade Level Release Teacher (GLRTs). Super Subs are like regular subs except sometimes we bring our own lessons and we can’t say no to any assignments, be it preschool through sixth including special education. It is becoming increasingly apparent that while I am a valued substitute teacher, there is some resistance, perhaps resistance in only one or a few people responsible for hiring teachers, who may not want me to be hired in a classroom. I will have more to say in a later post.
If you have a specific question or comment, please leave it in the comments.
