In the year of its 75th anniversary, Israel has lost a war for the first time. Not because they it was caught so unprepared. Not because of the hundreds of Israeli (and guest) deaths. Because of the dozens or maybe hundreds of hostages. As Netanyahu has pointed out, this war has just begun. Israel will have no choice but to invade Hamas and search for hostages. Gaza is densely packed with many multiresident buildings but also tunnels and bunkers. Israel soldiers will walk into many booby traps. Some hostages will never be found. Israel will occupy Gaza for months, losing soldiers and never fully succeeding. The only silver lining that could possibly emerge from this horrible tragic cloud is that Netanyahu and his cabal could finally get kicked to the gutter where they belong.
