Hi folks,
My first diary entry here is about something that bugs the heck out of me: The confusion between reactionary and radical. We are radicals. Radical has a proud tradition. Radical comes from the Latin root radix meaning root. Radicals look for the root of the problem to effect a solution. Reactionaries react against solutions. The right is reactionary. We want control over our bodies, they react to the progressing of culture to keep people in their places. We fight for a more balanced economy and they react and want the rich to keep it all. We want to put controls on the rampant industrialization that is destroying the environment and they react by calling us names, rolling coal, and opposing even the most logical rules to keep the environment livable for the future generations — and not on Mars! We want voting to be easier to grow the electorate, they want to place roadblocks in front of certain groups. The list goes on and on. Please correct your/our language since to be understood we need a common vocabulary. That is radical!
