Israel shoots down Iranian missile in first space war battle
In a startling first that few people seem to be aware of, Israel shot down an Iranian missile in space. That missile was launched by the Houthis in Yemen, who have been lobbing Iranian-provided weapons at Israel since the beginning of the current war. The U.S. shot down the first volley over a week ago, but that was a comparatively low altitude engagement. Israel shot down this missile more than 62 miles above the Earth, commonly regarded as the edge of space.
Welcome to the era of War in Space! Nobody has ever accomplished this feat before, except as a test of a country’s own hardware. The Houthis have no skin whatsoever in the dispute over Gaza except for their Iranian paychecks. Add that to Iranian agitation in Lebanon, Syria and of course Gaza, and you see the deadly game they are playing with absolute clarity, risking actual Armageddon in the process. All it would require is for the source or destination of a single missile of this type to be mistaken by a nuclear power, even purposely mistaken (as in plausible deniability), and you won’t ever need to worry about your credit card debt again. Or breathing.
