- In Ward 7, if the younger anti-stadium subsidy candidate Katie Cashman defeated her realtor/landlord opponent in a highly competitive race.
- In Ward 8, Council President Jenkins survived a spirited challenge. But due to the other results, Jenkins will likely not be Council President again next year.
- In Ward 12, Aurin Chowdhury won easily.
The pro-business slate aligned with the Chamber of Commerce and moderate incumbent Mayor spent millions trying to defeat candidates who support rent stabilization and increases in pay for ride-share drivers. The Chamber and its corporate benefactors lost this round. The next Minneapolis election is in 2025, when the Mayor’s office will be contested.
