This is a good time of year for eating out with family.
It is also the time of year when my calendar is crowded with birthdays, wedding anniversaries, and days of remembrance, for those I have lost.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at, to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off Daily Kos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on Daily Kos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
This is our current schedule of regular IAN diary writers:
Monday: Youffraita
Tuesday: bigjacbigjacbigjac
Wednesday: Pam from Calif
Thursday: art ah zen
Friday: FloridaSNMOM
Saturday: FloridaSNDad
Sunday: loggersbrat
The little dog is named Itzl.
On my Tuesday evening, I plan to be eating out with family, at the Golden Corral, here in Wichita, Kansas.
Our group should include:
- Me (Uncle Mark)
- Oosa (the mother of Ratana)
- Terrell (my brother-in-law)
- Ratana (my sister-in-law)
- Isabella (7 yrs old)
- Gabriella (3 yrs old)
- Olivia Diane (3 months old)
The gathering might include condolences to each other, because of the many days of remembrance around this time on the calendar.
I will start with today, Monday, the 18th of December, the day I am typing this.
On the 18th of December, 2021, my sister-in-law, Brigitte died.
And her husband, my brother Brent, was in the hospital, very ill, with Covid.
My brother died on the 28th of January, 2022.
But we should remember, as well, the 27th of January, 2001.
That is the day that my first wife, Pam, and I, were in my father, Don’s, hospital room, when he died.
The next days of remembrance that my mind moves towards, are the 10th of March, 2022, when Tonia died.
And the 11th of March, 2008, when Pam died.
I think I will ask Terrell about the days of remembrance for his father, Terrell Senior, and his mother, Oretha Isabella. I do not know those dates.
Okay, to move along to more uplifting thoughts:
Birthdays:
- 17th of November, Terrell
- 29th of November, Gabriella
- 15th of December, Ratana
- 26th of January, Isabella
And, just three months ago, on the 25th of September, was the birth of Olivia Diane.
And, the 17th of December, in 2016, was the wedding of Terrell and Ratana.
Of course, some of our attention might be on the actual food!
Ha!

From home-style favorites like Fried Chicken, Meatloaf, and Pot Roast to our Signature Sirloin Steaks, there is always a bounty of fresh, delicious choices to enjoy around the dinner table.
I plan to pay for everyone’s meal, plus a generous tip for the server.
That way, I am done with my Christmas shopping, right then!
Ha!
Well, I hope this diary was good enough for this IAN group.
I suppose I wrote it to organize my thoughts, which is why I post my comments here every day.
So, putting myself on the list of diary posters was just my way of getting the chance to write an extra-long comment, once a week!
Ha!
Okay, Hugs!
Warm, holiday hugs, from me to all of you.
Thanks for reading.
