Not I.
It’s been a while now since I first heard that a majority of Democrats would prefer a different nominee. Granted, this is a generic sentiment not tied to a specific alternative. And Biden is a lock for the nomination if (almost certainly) he seeks it. But still it surprised me. Who are these people?
Some background: I was a Warren supporter in ‘20 and I felt that Biden would be a poor choice both as a candidate and as President. I was wrong on both counts.
As a campaigner, Biden has a down-to-earth manner that is broadly appealing. And since last summer he has shown himself to be an effective fighter– cool, concise and hard-hitting. It plays very well.
He has also been a surprisingly good President, perhaps the best since LBJ (who, for all his flaws, I consider the best during my lifetime– since Eisenhower).
So, if there’s that much anti-Biden sentiment among Democrats, I suppose it’s fairly well represented here. Tell me.
