So the creator of the comic strip, Dilbert, has been removed from over 100 newspapers for his racist tirade.
On his podcast, Scott Adams said “White people should get the fuck away from Black” folk because of the results of a poll. The poll, he referred to was conducted by Rasmussen, a conservative polling organization. Rasmussen Reports asked Black respondents, “Is it ok to be White?” 53% said it was okay while 21% said ‘unsure’ and 26% said ‘no’. Now why Rasmussen would ask such a dumb-ass question is beyond me, but I’ll try and break this down later.
Because only 53% said it was okay to be White, this angered Adams. Apparently, Adams felt that number should have been higher. Maybe. Maybe not. If you asked me, and you didn’t, I’m surprised the number wasn’t lower. To him the 47% that were not okay or unsure, meant that Black folk are a “racist hate group.” Not sure how he determined that, but whatever.
From there, Adams went on a near-hour long rant about Blacks and high crime areas, so Whites “should just get the fuck away from Blacks.” He used Don Lemon, the only Black guy he could think of, as cover for his segregation advice, because once Lemon talked about moving out of a predominantly Black neighborhood because of crime. I guess we’re not going to talk about how poverty is the primary driver of crime and not race or folks being genetically mean. Meanwhile, the White trailer parks around the good old USA are full of crime. Nobody likes to talk about that. Ever watch one episode of Cops?
Adams said he moved from Blacks years ago, that his area now has a low amount of Blacks. In his case, low means NO. Where does Adams live? I wonder. Black folk should start moving there and soon. Wouldn’t it be great if a Black couple, named Shalonda and Tyrone and their little son, Laquan, moved right next door to Adams’ ignorant ass? What great neighbors they’d be. Lending Adams sugar. Bringing the properly made potato salad to the cookout. Not that shit Karen makes. That would piss him off I’d bet. Good. Then when he moves again, Black folk should move there too. Fuck it! If Adams went off world, Black folk should move their space stations right next to his. If Adams decided to fly into the Sun, Black folk should… No. Let Scott Adams fly into the damn Sun — his hateful ass!
Adams said he was done helping Black folk and that Whites should stop helping Black folks too. Oooookay. It doesn’t matter if Rasmussen found the number of Blacks okay with Whites to be 53%, 0% or 100%. The question is WHAT HAS SCOTT ADAMS EVER DONE FOR BLACK FOLKS TO EVER IMPROVE THESE NUMBERS? Hell, if anything, Adams has done the exact opposite for his entire career. What has he done? Does somebody know? I don’t. Is putting out that dry-ass comic strip, Dilbert, supposed to be a blessing for us? When reading the funny pages, Dilbert was one that I routinely glossed over for actually funny comics like Peanuts, Boondocks, and The Far Side. So there’s that.
Never close to being a fan. And that’s not me shitting on Adams’ work in hindsight. I’d try to read Dilbert from time to time, if it was on a page with strips that I actually found humorous. But like I said, I thought the humor was too dry, droll and full of itself. The strip’s take on office life always seemed a little off to me. Some truth nuggets here and there, other times not so much. Now I see why. Scott Adams is that asshole who works at your office. They say one out of three people are the OFFICE ASSHOLE. Look to your right. Look to your left. If you still haven’t found them, then the office asshole is you, Scott!
Allow me to take a minor detour and talk about Rasmussen Polling and why they asked that asinine question in the first place. First off, Rasmussen is notorious for polls that skew ridiculously right. Most times, their sample size already skews conservative in order to achieve favorably conservative outcomes. Almost every presidential election these guys got the conservative candidate winning.
So why would Rasmussen ask the question: Is it ok to be White?
Believe it or not, the question has an origin beyond Rasmussen. The question started off as a statement, It’s okay to be White. originated as part of an organized alt-right trolling campaign on the website 4chan's discussion board /pol/ in 2017. A /pol/ user described it as a proof of concept that an otherwise innocuous message could be used maliciously to spark media backlash. It then lovingly and unironically made its way into White Supremacist and Far-Right spaces. It may go back even further. The Anti-Defamation League stated that the phrase has a history within the white supremacist movement that goes back to 2001 when it was used as the title of a song by a white power music group called Aggressive Force. Fliers with the phrase were spotted back in 2005 and the slogan being used by a member of the United Klans of America.
Rasmussen Reports stated that the only reason they created the poll was because the question “has been in the news many times.” Really? It has? The only time I’ve ever heard or read this question was out of the mouths of some White Supremacist. So that’s a load of crap, Rasmussen Reports. Y’all created this poll for the views and clicks and clout. Who you foolin’?
Meanwhile, just when you thought Scott Adams was done telling White folks to runaway like headless chickens, Adams brought up some ignorant nonsense about how he was “tired of watching video after video of Blacks beating up Whites.” Huh? What videos is he talking about? Where are these videos? There’s attack videos on the news, sure, but those are of Black on Black, Black on Asian, Black on Jew, Black on White, White on Black, White on Asian, White on White, White on Jew. So what is he talking about? Is he watching YouTube? Nope. Not there. Is he watching WorldStar? I truly doubt it. He’s probably on some right-wing site or on 4chan, or Telegram, or Parler or Storm Front finding this cherry-picked nonsense. He ain’t anywhere mainstream or reputable.
Not sure why Adams said he was done helping Black folks when there is no obvious record of him doing so. What he has done is use his right-wing podcast to throw troll bombs, shade and half-truths typically found in most right-wing podcasts. I’m sure he’s never used his platform to reach out to Black listeners, Black readers, or Black cartoonists, EVER. So please stick your “help” that never was in your dark office cubicle.
Next, like clockwork, Adams claimed victim-hood and that he’s been canceled. Where’s my cancel cup to catch his Millionaire White Man Tears ($50M net worth). That stuff is like adrenochrome, or whatever that Q-Anon shit is. They say it keeps you young if you drink it. I prefer letting them dry out and crystallize, then I snort it.
There’s no such thing as Cancel Culture. What is there? There is freedom of speech, then there are consequences for that speech. You are free to say whatever you want in this country, but you are not free from the consequences of running off your racist, segregationist, ignorant mouth. In 2023, there is no place for segregationists. Sorry. Scott Adams did this to himself. He’s been doing this to himself for a very long time. He will not be missed. Talk long enough and you will reveal who you truly are. Scott Adams did just that. And because of that revelation, we, me and over 100 newspapers have chosen to move on.
