Good morning, Newdists! As March appears, join us for some coffee...a nosh….some chat….and whatever silliness I’ve found!
If you’re gonna March in like a lion, you might as well be a nice one!
March is the third month of the year in both the Julian and Gregorian calendars. It is the second of seven months to have a length of 31 days. In the Northern Hemisphere, the meteorological beginning of Spring occurs on the first day of March. So. Happy Spring, I guess!
The Vernal Equinox occurs on Monday, March 20, 2023 at 5:24 pm EDT
The name of March comes from Martius, the first month of the earliest Roman calendar. It was named after Mars, the Roman god of war.
Of course, I say we should call it Marti-us, and name it after a critter who isn’t as fond of war! But that’s just...me. heh
March’s birthstones are the aquamarine and the bloodstone, which symbolise courage. If you’re gonna be born in March, you’d better have courage...the weather can be so very wild!!
The flower for March is the daffodil...one of my favourites!
Pisces and Aries are the Zodiac signs for March.
March is National Women’s History Month.
March is also Irish-American Heritage Month.
And Happy Birthday to our favourite March kid….
side pocket!
Wishing him a Happy Birthday in spite of recent events….and a healthy year to come!!
Welcome to the month of Marching in like a Lion...a lovely, silly, adorable Lion. And may that be the way this month goes for all of us!!!
