Gallup polling from the month of April got the answers above.
I’ll do some interpreting if I may. They don’t say Joe Biden, they say government. I often hear the sentiment that government isn’t really working out for people, that the people in charge don’t care about regular people. Or that’s my take anyway and I’m sticking to it.
The next two answers are about the economy. then immigration.
Then finally guns, an issue Dems score higher on.
Nothing said about gender, or abortion. Don’t even move the needle despite what front pagers say.
There are segments of the Democratic and Republican parties as well as leaning independents that will vote with their party. Always. Every time. They include hard core Magas as well as Never Trumpers who nonetheless will always pull the lever for an R, never a D. We have the equivalent.
Then there are the switchers, the white working class that voted for Trump in 16 after voting for Obama twice. The ones that switched back and gave Biden the win in 20, and thank god they stayed home in 22 because those that did vote switched back to the Rs by 8%.
There are eight competitive senate seats in 24, every single one a Dem or Dem caucusing incumbent. Places like West Virginia and Montana.
