In a stunning setback for the Scottish National Party, Scotland’s former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon was arrested and taken in for questioning, as part of the police investigation into the finances of the SNP.
I’m unclear as to what the nature of the investigation is, but I always viewed First Minister Sturgeon as the one National Figure in Great Britain who stood as a voice of sanity and genuine leadership on this Sceptered Isle- a stark contrast to the pathetic machinations of Johnson, Truss, May and Sunak. Dignified, passionate and articulate, she was the one steady hand on the Ship of State: a firm believer in Scottish Independence and staunch opponent of the catastrophic Brexit.
There has been little coverage in the US of what the issue at hand is, though I have to give credit to CNN for breaking the news here. I’m sure The Guardian will be following the process in the days to come, but I can’t imagine such a competent, popular Minister would be guilty of the same hijinks we’ve had to endure under tRump, Santos and DeSatan. This is a story I will be watching with baited breath...
