I’m proud to be an American. Many people are also proud to be one.
Being proud of one’s Americaness is something shared with many ethnic minorities in this country. According to that survey group More In Common 62 percent of Asians, 70 percent of blacks, and 76 percent of Hispanics are also proud to be Americans, and we’d rather live here than anywhere else in the world.
In Massachusetts, a state known for its leftishness, pollsters found the statement “America is not perfect but it is good to be patriotic and proud of the country” received support 66 to 25. According to an article in The Liberal Patriot a lefty populist rag.
I don’t wear an American Flag, but I do have one out in front of my house on this fourth of July.
I know that same polling shows the “progressive activist” demographic polls on the question at 34%. So I guess my message is to look on the bright side, see the good things, be proud.
