Brian Tyler Cohen summarized another fail by James Comer as he desperately tries to find something that he can pin on President Biden. Essentially, Hunter, apparently, sold an illusion of proximity of power. Over the course of a decade, Hunter called President Biden 20 times; thus, this averages out to be about twice a year. Some of the time he called while having dinner with a friend and many times Hunter would call while Hunter was hosting a business colleague or somebody he was doing business with. However, in each and every case, President Biden spoke about the weather or other non-business related topics. President Biden never spoke about business with his son's business partners. The witness, Devon Archer, was consistent on this point. James Comer and the republicans still have come up with zero evidence to support the original claim that Joe Biden extorted the Burisma CEO by threatening to unleash a corrupt public official on Burisma. Rudy Giuliani was sent by Donald Trump to Ukraine to dig up dirt on Joe Biden in 2018. Guliani learned of this claim from a second hand source in 2019. That second hand source claimed (we can't even prove the original conversation took place) that in 2016 he was told of the alleged crime. Guliani encouraged the second hand source to report this to the FBI. So, in 2019 while Donald Trump was president and Bill Barr was attorney general and Christopher Wray was head of the FBI, they had this claim. Hence, Trump's team including Trump's DOJ had this investigation for two years and was not able to come up with ANY EVIDENCE to buttress the claim. And whenever they claim that they have evidence (tapes), it disappears. And their witnesses turn out to be people who can't testify to anything about Joe Biden.

.However, even Comer admitted that he had nothing when he was asked if this would finally be the thing that would tie President Biden to crime and responded, "I sure hope so!" on Fixed Noise (but I refuse to link to them). Comer and the Republicans have been hyping up the witness, Devon Archer, for almost a month. How exonerating it is for the president can be seen in the fact that Dan Goldman called for the entire transcript to be released.
Here is the text of some of the tweets by Representative Goldman (courtesy of Brian Tyler Cohen) :
" I just left the interview of Devon Archer and I was the only member who stayed for the whole time. These are the facts:
(1) Archer testified that Joe Biden NEVER discussed any business with Hunter and his associates
(2) there was no bribe from Burisma to Joe or Hunter
This investigation has uncovered ZERO evidence connected to President Biden
In fact, the evidence is clear that President Biden had nothing to do with Hunter's businesses.
The American people are tired of this wild goose chase and I urge @RepJamesComer to close it immediately."

Another Embarrassing Day for House Republicans in the Hunter Saga
Their much-hyped star witness Devon Archer testified that Joe never discussed business with Hunter.
Rep. Dan Goldman left the deposition of House Oversight's star witness Devon Archer saying that at no time did he hear Hunter ever discuss any business dealings with his father.

His closed-door testimony to the committee seems to have been a dud, however, as Democratic and Republican members of the panel appeared to acknowledge he didn't provide evidence of the president's alleged involvement in his son's business dealings.
