Please support Maui, if you can. This is an endorsement to help through the Hawai’i Community Foundation Maui Strong Fund
One of the fun things I did in my brief time on the Big Island was sweeping the stage under the banyon where Hilo Community Players performed Shakespeare in the Park. Though I moved away a decade ago, friends in Hilo keep me updated with the community players. Check out their show schedules when you’re on the Big Island. Auditions for The Rocky Horror Show are this coming Monday and Thursday.
The reason for this post is to support Maui, not to call for auditions. My friends in the Hilo Community Players join in supporting the Maui Strong Fund operated by the Hawai’i Community Foundation.
Here is a reformatted email sent from the Hilo Community Players
We at Hilo Community Players have, like many of you, been trying to find ways to support our friends and neighbors on Maui in the wake of the devastating wildfires. While we hope to raise funds and support Maui with upcoming events, we would like to take a moment to encourage you to donate directly to the Hawai’i Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund for the most immediate impact. We have worked with the Hawai’i Community Foundation for many years, and trust that they are a reliable organization, able to mobilize funds and provide resources to those on the ground quickly. Mahalo for helping those on Maui as they begin to recover and rebuild from this tragedy.
