Morning! I don’t know as of writing this whether I will be online today or not. It’s going to depend what Hurricane Idalia did. I’m writing this on Monday, just in case. Already canceled doctor’s appointments for Wednesday because both where we are and where the doctor’s appointments are, are in hurricane watch zones currently. And I’d really rather not be stuck an hour away with no way home in the middle of a hurricane, tyvm.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

Hopefully we won’t lose power, or at least won’t lose it for long. Today (Monday) we are working down our hurricane prep list. Right now I have a pork loin and 12 drum sticks in the oven cooking. Then they will cool and most of that will go into the freezer (we’ll have some of the pork tonight). Easier to reheat already cooked food, takes less energy, creates less heat in the house from the gas stove, and worst comes to worst, we can eat it cold.
If you’re in the path, check in! If you’re not in the path, stop in, watch some videos and chat. What’s going on in your neighborhood?
