My baby sister is a VP at a super regional bank
and has offered to introduce you to their subsidiary which is a money processing service, to get Daily Kos set up to process donations instead of sending us all to Act Blue.
I can’t see any reason why you wouldn’t want to pursue this and many reasons why you should.
One: Daily Kos needs some new revenue streams, or you wouldn’t have had to lay off a bunch of paid staff in 2023. Or keep asking for donations to pay the legal fees from the lawsuit by RFK Jr against Daily Kos.
Two: Act Blue is great, but since I’ve used it in the past five years, my personal cell phone number has obviously been sold endlessly to candidates around the country. I get multiple text messages every single day from candidates in states I’ve never set foot in and from candidates I’ve never heard of. I’m more than tired of it.
Three: You could help low level organizations raise money with smaller fees than even Act Blue, while still boosting Daily Kos revenues.
Okay that’s not a lot of reasons, but I’m sure commenters will raise more of them.
Anytime you want to hear about the bank or it’s subsidiary funds processor, just let me know.
