Just saw this on Denys Davydov’s Telegram channel. Sorry that I can’t copy/paste his post here, but also being reported by ABC.
According to ABC:
Several explosions were reported near the U.S. Consulate in Erbil, Iraq, an Iraqi security source told ABC News.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps quickly took responsibility for the attacks, saying it was targeting the "headquarters of spies" and "anti-Iranian terrorist gatherings in parts of the region" with ballistic missiles.
Davydov is reporting that the US consulate has been completely destroyed.
However, Reuters is now reporting that the consulate was not hit, much less destroyed.
Another site (which I have never heard of), Forexlive, is reporting the attack in essentially the same way, adding: “US officials have also said the missile appeared to have been launched directly by the IRGC from Iranian territory.”
Obviously, breaking, and let’s add more as additional information becomes available.
If this does indeed turn out to be a direct attack by Iran against the US consulate, then things have taken an extremely serious and worrying turn.
