Jonathan Chait is a columnist for New York Magazine (and also a cold-hearted food critic who has a deep admiration for the dish of ratatouille) who thinks he's a prophet we should all be listening about how Joe Biden is doomed and Trump is on the road to re-election, and is a sure winner at this point. He's been dooming about Biden since 2019, and predicted a second republican revolution in 2022. A wonderful statement of his is:
"The 2020 election, the 2021 Georgia runoff, and the 2022 midterms all support the theory that a Trump-dominated GOP needs Trump on the ticket to win".
He now thinks Trump is an electoral juggernaut and that Biden's coalition is falling apart. This to me is both grossly incorrect and evident of someone who gets clicks talking about a reality framed from cherry-picked polls that show Biden down and this great myth of a drift to the right of young voters, all based off of flawed polls I should note. It's so sad that we have a media that continues to be dependent on clicks and attention, and is shifting to "bothsidesism", which wouldn't be bad except when you're defending people who lie out of their teeth and want to take away rights. Unlinke Jon, we're going to work for this victory. The enthusiasm gap bs has been around since Biden first announced. Hope he has a good November and wonder how he’ll say it's bad for Joe Biden.
