I’m changing to a new clinic and strangely, considering this is a national system, my new doctor asked for a complete blood panel, thorax XRay, and a week of blood pressure readings. They are very thorough here.
The blood test results came back and there were a couple of marginal items; one was slightly too high, the other slightly too low. What did all this mean? I hadn’t much idea.
I began to wonder if … I mean, I ask it other things … Chat GPT. No — it’s a silly idea. But even so, it can’t hurt to try. It will probably hallucinate that I’m a vampire.
ME: can you help analyse my blood test results?
ChatGPT: I can certainly try! While I'm not a doctor, I can help you understand common terms or provide general information. Just share the details you're comfortable with, and we can take it from there.
So, I did. And just to make it even more weird, I copied the results straight from the Spanish-language PDF the lab sent me. This proved no problem, Chat GPT translated it to English.
And analysed the results. It said:
Overall, these results indicate a good balance in your blood cell counts. The minor deviations from the normal ranges in VCM and CHCM may not be of significant concern, but it's always best to consult with your healthcare provider for a more personalized interpretation based on your medical history and symptoms.
But remember: Your Mileage Might Vary! (no it didn’t say that, I was thinking it)
