It’s been established that Donald Trump stole dozens of boxes filled with classified documents and stored them in his suite at Mar-a-Lago. And it’s been credibly speculated that Trump may have given some of those documents to representatives from the Saudi Arabian government.
If Donald Trump did any sort of favor for the Saudis, chances are that he requested a favor for himself in return. (Remember Trump’s “perfect phone call” to Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky?) And what sort of favor is the Saudi Arabian government in a position to most easily do for Donald Trump?
Let’s see. The Saudi government sells fossil fuels to the USA at whatever prices they decide to charge at any given time. Whenever Saudi Arabia charges more, Americans pay more at the pumps. And many of these Americans are quick to blame high fuel prices on the President. Trump probably knows this, and it would be just like him to exploit that aspect of an uninformed populace if he could find a way to do so.
I must emphasize that this is only a speculation on my part. Although I’ve thought it through with basic “Occam’s Razor” logic, I don’t claim to be certain of it, and I admit that I could be wrong.
However, in the event that gas and oil prices suddenly double or triple a month or so before the big election, I doubt that it would be a mere coincidence.
