My son is back in San Diego for work. He sent me these pictures yesterday and my heart melted more than if Antonio Banderas himself had shown up at my door with flowers and chocolates.
For a long time the dog beach was unofficial. It's nice to see that it's still very popular.
It's been eleven years since my Rottweiler, Ninja, died. He was absolutely the smartest dog I've ever been privileged to know. I miss him so much.
Funny thing about pet people, no matter how many pets we have, and how much we adore them, seeing other people's pets is still exciting.
I miss my son tremendously, it was so nice to hear his voice when he called me yesterday. And told me he was sending pictures.
Usually when someone says "I can smell this picture" it's something icky. But I can smell these pictures, and they smell like happy soggy puppers, salt water, seaweed, and joy.
Later that evening my daughter brought home flowers. A dozen lovely fragrant red roses. They're in my mercury glass vase now, and fill the room with color and perfume. It's been years since someone gave me roses. I'm always buying houseplants but I never buy myself cut flowers. These ones are very special.
I may not have Antonio Banderas (sigh) but I am a happy person right now.
I hope you enjoyed these pictures as much as I enjoyed sharing them with you.
