I am seeking out primary sources that I can attain so...reading a lot more than what I have here.

Journey of the Mind: A Life in History by Peter Brown-
Slow Horses by Mick Herron-
And, of course, along with doing intense research, there’s always rabbit holes that one finds oneself falling down.
As to how Frederick Douglass acquired the violin with which he taught his grandson...well, that’s a story in itself that Douglass told in his own words.
