A Russian surveillance drone is blasted by Ukrainian air defense.
Russia continues to push west from Avdiivka.
Russia’s next target is likely Robotyne and the area Ukraine managed to take during their summer offensive. This assault on Robotyne didn’t end well for Russia.
A couple of Russian armored vehicles managed to drive into Robotyne and drop off infantry at the town’s post office but they failed to bring sufficient postage.
This used to be the railway station in Kostyantynivka.
Takes a skilled pilot to land with no landing gear. This plane is likely trash now.
The Ukrainian number is surely higher than that.
This is an excellent read from The NY Times about the relationship between the CIA and Ukrainian intelligence (HUR).
First, General Kondratiuk was annoyed when the Americans refused to provide satellite images from inside Russia. Soon after, he requested C.I.A. assistance in planning a clandestine mission to send HUR commandos into Russia to plant explosive devices at train depots used by the Russian military. If the Russian military sought to take more Ukrainian territory, Ukrainians could detonate the explosives to slow the Russian advance. When the station chief briefed his superiors, they "lost their minds," as one former official put it. Mr. Brennan, the C.I.A. director, called General Kondratiuk to make certain that mission was canceled and that Ukraine abided by the red lines forbidding lethal operations. General Kondratiuk canceled the mission, but he also took a different lesson. "Going forward, we worked to not have discussions about these things with your guys," he said.
The fact that there is even a discussion about whether drones can replace artillery shows how far drone warfare has come.
The usefulness of expensive drones like this in Ukraine are debatable. They would be great for surveillance and launching missiles but they are relatively slow and vulnerable to air defense.
This is inexcusable.
Adios. Ciao. до свидания

The best headlines are the simplest ones.
Warren Buffett’s son steps up with a huge private donation to Ukraine.
But Howard Buffett, the elder son of Warren, the billionaire investor and Berkshire Hathaway CEO, has no intention of forsaking Ukraine or its President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The wartime leader and American philanthropist have a profound mutual respect.
Buffett told Business Insider, "There are very few people in the world that could step up" and do what Zelenskyy's done. "I think he's a pretty amazing guy," he said.
As a result, Buffett's Howard G. Buffett Foundation has emerged as a stalwart ally to Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion, injecting $521,779,225 into humanitarian assistance for Ukraine as of January 2024.
And the Polish government has yet to put a stop to this.
A common enemy.
Fuck this asshole.
He said the West started a demonization of Putin in hope to get him on his knees, but failed. He furthermore stated that the war already started in 2014 by Ukrainian neo-nazis and also pointed towards NATO 'expanding to the east' which is against Russian interest.
He considers Ukraine joining NATO as the basis for World War III and once again expressed that Ukraine, Russia and Europe need peace and security guarantees by the strongest international players.
Because Putin feels threatened by a 78-year-old woman.
The inherent risks of traveling to a war zone.
Budanov also said that Moldova’s breakaway region of Transnistria will not request to be annexed by the Russian Federation.
Well, I hope these guys aren’t sent back in an exchange because they’ll be dead shortly thereafter.
