It is almost impossible to lose weight by starving yourself. Reducing your weight is easiest when you satisfy your cravings with nutritious food.This does not mean becoming a vegetarian or going on some currently popular diet fad. You can reduce your cravings just by eating foods that are properly raised and not severely processed.
Few of us are aware that that food today has almost half the nutrients of 50 years ago. We eat more because our body needs these nutrients. Until we satisfy those nutrients, any diet plan will soon fail once stopped.We may see increased eating trying to replace those missing nutrients.
The simplest way to change our diet is to buy foods that are organic. These vegetables and fruits have more nutrients than the commercially raised foods. In addition, the foods from animals like eggs, milk and meat need to come from pasture raised animals.
Organic is not enough. These pasture raised animal foods not only have more nutrients, but will have healthier levels of Omega fatty acids for better health.
The second step is to limit foods that have been processed. Almost all include added salt, sugar, unknown added chemical colorings, flavorings, and even addictive substances. As you switch to organically raised fruits and vegetables and pastured raised animal products, you will notice that you will gradually eat less. When you snack between meals, eating fresh fruits and vegetables will help satisfy cravings without added weight gain. On a personal note, when I went on an all organic diet, I lost a pound a month for 18 months, but more importantly, my energy levels increased dramatically.
