CONTENT WARNING: this diary has been marked NSFF. All owners of pooties named Freddie (or sufferers of anatidaephobia) please take note!
I understand phobias, I do. It’s a pity — sometimes they cause us to miss out on wonderful things, like this:
And this:
So for those of you who suffer from a fear of ducks, I apologize for today’s topic. (Sorry, Freddie!)
For everybody else, read on!
Welcome to PWB Theme Thursdays! If you’ve never visited or commented in a PWB (Pootie/Woozle/Birdie) diary before, come on in — the water is fine, and the folks are always friendly! A few quick guidelines:
- No trolling the diary. If you hate pootie diaries, leave now. No harm, no foul.
- Please do share pics of your fur kids! If you have health/behavior issues with your pets, feel free to bring it to the community.
- When it comes to problems, we may just have someone with experience who can help. So ask!
- Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. This is a place to relax and play; please treat it accordingly.
- There is no such thing as stealing a photo around here, but if you would like a pic from the comment threads, please ask the poster. He/she may have a copyright to those pics. Many thanks!
- There are some pics we never post: snakes, creepy crawlies, any and all photos that depict or encourage human cruelty toward animals. These are considered “out of bounds” and will not be tolerated. If you keep posting banned pics...well then...the Tigress will have to take matters in hand. Or, paw.
Ducks have always been an inspiration for humor, for some reason. I remember one mosquito-filled night in Maine, for example, camping with a friend. To while away the time, we somehow got started on duck puns — and believe me, they were bad. A few I remember after all these years:
- What happened to the drake who joined the army? He was induckted.
- What do you call a mallard maid-of-honor? A member of the webbing.
- Why did the duck comedian flop? His humor was fowl.
Hour upon hour of this, and laughing till we couldn’t breathe. It was both a horrific and historic night. And we were hardly the only jokers that ducks have inspired:
Not to mention, of course, the fabulous plethora of duck memes to be had! From the “awwww”:
To the awesome:
From the cute:
To the cunning:
So today, I present for your enjoyment a combination of the sweet, the silly, the sexy, and the suave, featuring Freddie’s feathered nemesis: the duck! (plus a few assorted friends)
SUPER-QUICK PERSONALITY QUIZ!!!!
From the next three images, circle the one that is most like you:
Congratulations! You passed! Now celebrate with a dancing duck:
Sometimes ducks are simply beautiful:
As are their larger cousins:
Ducks can be amazingly sweet and affectionate:
So can geese! (and yep, that’s a Sebastopol)
They’re easy to get attached to:
They can be very empathetic:
But they can also, at times, be full of attitude!
If after all the above you are still stressed about something, watch this — I promise your blood pressure will go down! (If it’s already low, this might put you in a coma — fair warning! ;p )
Or if instead you want another laugh, watch this. I love James Veitch :-) Worth every second!
Happy Thursday, everyone! How are you feeling today? If you’re not sure, I have a handy chart you can use to evaluate your mood:
