OK, friends; time to get stuck (if you’ve been smart, again). The CDC recommends an additional Covid-19 booster (4 months after the last inoculation) for us 65-pluses, as well as for certain other age categories; for my fellow vets, VA authorizes the same, with its usual caveats about availability and clinic hours.
[COVID-19 vaccine recommendations have been updated as of February 28, 2024, to recommend adults ages 65 years and over receive an additional updated 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine dose. This page will be updated to align with the new recommendation. Learn more.]
The from-the-first numbers are pretty dismal: although the number of “All Adults 18+” with 1 or more inoculations is more than 80% (Yay, sorta), the number of “up-to-dates” (a/o 1/27/24) is about 20%. www.cdc.gov/... (I’ve several adjectives for that number, but I won’t…)
Please get the shot. I, as well as many friends, have gotten all the inoculations with little more than site-soreness, or some nausea, maybe a headache — so go for it. And for doG’s sake: if you haven’t been inoculated, start the process and follow through.
The rest of us will be ever so grateful for the help in extending our happy, healthy lives.
