I was sexually abused by an older boy when I was 15 years old. I want to get that out there as my bona fides on commenting on the disgusting and reprehensible person from SC called Congressperon Nancy Mace. I don’t watch the Sunday TV “news” shows because they have become platforms for Republican lies. Well, seems George Stephanopouluos of ABC did his job and asked Nancy Mace to square her support of — and he said this — a rapist for president. Mace herself is a rape victim, and brother did she play VICTIM with that question, which SHE NEVER ANSWERED! My point is that Mace empowers rapists with her support for Donald Trump.
No ifs, ands, or buts.
Here is some of that exchange:
IF you are feeling any shame Nancy, it’s because you are supporting a man who rapes women. No one is shaming you for being raped. It’s clear that being your being raped is secondary to obtaining political power for yourself at any cost. And you are insulting and diminishing all other rape/sexual abuse victims in America.
It’s easy for Mace to dismiss and talk over Stephanopoulos’s question because she’s going into false Republican victimhood here. It’s a Republican superpower, besides being shameless, which Mace is as well. By the way, Mace’s coming out with her rape didn’t change any minds in SC. Mace brought up her own rape to try and get an exception for rape and incest survivors in the anti-abortion bill passed in SC. Her fellow Republicans blew her off, and there are no exceptions for rape and incest.
Her indifference to rape victims reminds me of the scene from the movie “The Last Duel.” The character played by Harriet Walter tells her daughter that she was also raped, but she tells this to her daughter in a “A lot of women get raped. You get over it!” attitude. It was the character’s way of telling her daughter not to stir up trouble against a fellow nobleman who raped her.
By the way, I don’t support Democrats who rape. If the choice was a modern day Republican and a rapist Democrat, I would write in a candidate or simply not vote.
Thanks for nothing Nancy Mace!
