I am always writing about my grief journey.
Every day, I must look for happiness, to avoid depression.
I decided to make a list of some of the things I do, to look for happiness.
As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at, to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off Daily Kos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on Daily Kos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!
IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!
This is our current schedule of regular IAN diary writers:
Monday: Youffraita
Tuesday: bigjacbigjacbigjac
Wednesday: Pam from Calif
Thursday: art ah zen
Friday: FloridaSNMOM
Saturday: FloridaSNDad
Sunday: loggersbrat
The little dog is named Itzl.
First, I need to mention that on my Sunday, that was the day of remembrance for the death of my second wife, Tonia, on the 10th of March, 2022, two years ago.
On my Monday, that was the day of remembrance for the death of my first wife, Pam, on the 11th of March, 2008, 16 years ago.
And on my Monday, I had my sister-in-law take me to the cemetery, to visit the grave of Tonia, where I will be buried, as well.
There were lots of little purple flowers growing wild on her grave.
I just looked it up and found “deadnettle.”
They look so happy and fun to have such a downer of a name!
Ha!
Now for my list of things I do, to give myself happiness, rather than depression:
- I take a walk, at least a half mile, often a mile or more. I look at the houses and the yards and the cars and the birds and the grass and the flowers and the trees. so many trees are blooming right now, here in Wichita, Kansas. Many of them are crabapple trees. I chat with anyone I see on my way.
- I prepare very tasty meals and buy a few treats as well. Chili, veggie stew, mac n cheese, popcorn and ice cream.
- I buy many nice items at Walmart dot com. I show off many of these items in my videos.
- I record nice videos, and post them at YouTube, nearly every day.
- I go to my favorite YouTube channels, mainly MSNBC, Beau of the Fifth Column, Roland Martin Unfiltered, and my brother-in-law’s channel, Williams Lawn and Property Cleaning LLC, and I look at various other lawn care channels, like the Bertuzzi Brothers, and various cleaning channels, like A Beautiful Mess, and Midwest Magic Cleaning.
- I work on my various chores, washing dishes, taking out the trash, washing my laundry, sweeping the floor, etc.
- I check in here at the IAN each night, for interaction with you, my Itzl grief support group.
- I check in every day at Facebook, to interact with some of the Herbert family, mostly nieces and nephews, some in their fifties.
- I come here to Daily Kos, and post diaries, here at IAN, over at DK Preppers, and my Music diaries, going through the hits, year by year.
I just now went over my time, and I am now editing.
Let me add a little music:
Okay!
Hugs!
